Recy Screen

Recy Screen

Recy Screen door Gert de Mulder.

Decoreren. En hergebruik. Belangrijke drijfveren in mijn werk. Charles Moore zei het treffend; “We have no place to throw away our waste. Away is no longer a place”.

Decoration and reuse. Key drivers in my work. Colourful Recy Blocks, roomdeviders, light objects, sitting elements, vases and bowls. It’s more than making the world more beautiful. Charles Moore had a striking quote ; ‘We have no place to throw away our waste. Away is no longer a place “. But as long as we continue to produce plastic waste, i will collect it as a base material for my work, as the color for my decorations and a more beautiful , nicer world.  After the design-worthy Recy-Block Gert developped the Recy-Screen. These decorative semy-transparant screens are made from discarded bags and retain their shape via exposure to high heat. Their color varies depending on the color or print of the bags used, and can be decorated with pressed flowers and other eco-accoutrement.  Because of the semy-transparant feature, they can also be used to build lamps or light-objects.
